Our client, an innovative leader in autonomous mobility solutions, is seeking a Model Maker to join their team. As a Model Maker, you will be part of the Engineering Support Department supporting vehicle prototyping and development teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title:  Model Maker

Location:  Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $55-$60/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Operate and maintain CNC machines such as mills and lathes to produce precision parts based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up tooling, fixtures, and perform routine calibration to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Perform fabrication tasks including milling, turning, drilling, welding, and working with composites and additive manufacturing materials.
• Inspect parts for accuracy, finish, and adherence to blueprints or CAD models, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and fabricators to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and improve prototyping processes.

What's Needed?

• At least 2 years of experience as a Model Maker, Fabricator, Machinist, or CNC Operator in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.).
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM equipment for quality control.
• Basic understanding of GD&T principles and shop safety protocols for material handling and fabrication.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
